Aidon will deliver smart electricity meters to Eidsiva

Eidsiva Nett AS has awarded to Aidon a contract for the delivery of smart electricity meters (AMS: advanced metering steering system). The value of the contract is around 160 million Norwegian crowns and is a part of Eidsiva’s project in which meters of their 143 000 customers will be changed.

The contract includes purchase of smart meters including communication technology for automatic collection of metering values, as well as IT systems and services related to the project implementation.

Focusing on the future

– We are very pleased to award this contract to Aidon. Eidsiva looks for technology which enables more efficient network operation with the help of the new meters. Aidon offers a solution which we are looking for and is perceived as a solid cooperation partner. We look forward to the forthcoming cooperation, says director Morten Aalborg from Eidsiva Nett. The award of the contract to Aidon is subject to final decision of Eidsiva governing bodies.

Can set new standards

The Norwegian authorities have set a requirement for having all households equipped with smart meters in 2019, at the latest.
